RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE' CITY OF REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA,.
DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL
ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON JUNE
8, 1976
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA,
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby find,
determine, and declare as follows:
a. That pursuant to applicable law, a special
election was held and conducted in said City on the
8th day of June, 1976, and
b. That said election was held and conducted in
conformity with all applicable provisions of law; and
C. That said special election t:ias held for the
purpose of submitting to the voters of said City the
following 17,,' nd proposition, to-wit:
11 the City of Redlands incur a bonded
indebt-i.."Ie-ss In the principal sum of $960, 000
for the acquisition and construction by said
City of a certain municipal improvement, to-wit:
an addition to the A.K. Smiley Public Library,
including the acquisition of equipment, furnish-
ings, fixtures and property and the construction
of such improvements to the existing library
building as may be necessary or convenient there-
for and all expenses incidental to or connected
with the authorization, issuance and sale of the
bonds?
d. That pursuant to direction of the City Council
the Registrar of Voters of San Bernardino County has ,hereto-
fore conducted a canvass of the results thereof and has
filed with said City Council a certificate relating
thereto which has been examined and is hereby accepted
by this City Council.
SECTION 2. That the Statement of Election Results
relating to said special election is attached hereto as
Exhibit "A" , and by this reference incorporated herein.
SECTION 3. That the City Council does hereby accept
the canvass of record of said special election as certified
by said Registrar of Voters and does hereby declare that the
vote of less than two-thirds of all the voters voting at
said election upon the bond proposition were cast in favor
of the adoption of said bond proposition and said bond
proposition is hereby declared to have -failed to carry at
said election.
SECTION 4 . That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
enter this resolution in full in the minutes of this City
Council, which entry shall constitute the City Clerk ' s state-
ment of the result of the election.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify the
adoption of this resolution.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 29th da of June 1976 .

7 that, pursuant to the provisions of Section 17081 of the California Elections
8 Code, I did canvass the returns of the vote cast in the CITY OF REDLANDS
9 SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION at the Consolidated Primary Election meld on
10 June 8, 1976, and that the Statement of Vote Cast, to which this certificate
11 is a part, shows the number of votes cast in said City, and the whole
12 number of votes cast .for the Measure in each respective precinct therein are
13 full., true and correct.
