Home My WebLink AboutOrdinances_29821636031 /lANARESOWTM AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING CHAPTER 10.24 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE CONFIRMING PRIMA FACIA SPEED LIMITS FOR SPECIFIED CITY STREETS WHEREAS, an Engineering and Traffic Survey, as defined by California Vehicle Code section 627, is a survey of highway and traffic conditions conducted in accordance with methods defined in the California Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices; and WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code section 40802 requires an Engineering and Traffic Survey be prepared for each City street segment, every seven to fourteen years, for the use of radar or other electronic devices to enforce speed limits. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. _Section 10.24.030 of the Redlands Municipal Code is hereby amended as follows: "10.24.030: PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS: It is determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey that the orderly movement of vehicular traffic would be facilitated in, a reasonable and safe manner by establishing enforceable - - -speed limits under the conditions found to exist upon the following streets. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application thereof to any entity, person or circumstance is held for any reason to be invalid or unconstitutional, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect other provisions or applications of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are severable. The City Council of the City of Redlands hereby declares that it would have adopted this ordinance and each section, sentence, clause or phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more section, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared invalid or unconstitutional Section 3. The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it, or a summary of it, to be published once in a newspaper of general circulation within the City, and thereafter, this ordinance shall take effect as provided by law.
