A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ASSUMING CONTROL OF PARKING ON CERTAIN STATE HIGHWAYS.
WHEREAS Section 22506 of the Vehicle Code provides that
where maintenance of State Highways is delegated to a
city, the authority to regulate parking may also be
delegated;
WHEREAS maintenance of certain State Highways has been
assumed by the City of Redlands by prior agreements with
the State Division of Highways ;
WHEREAS the State Division of Highways has offered to
delegate to the City the authority to regulate parking
on these Highways ;
WHEREAS the public health, safety and welfare require
public control of traffic and parking regulations ;
BE IT THEREFORE NOW RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Redlands does hereby agree to assume regulation
and control of parking on State Highways where the City
has assumed maintenance responsibilities , and the Mayor
and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the agree-
ment on behalf of the City assuming this obligation..
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 19th day of March
1968.
