A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
APPROVING FUNCTIONAL CLASSIFICATIONS OF STATE ROUTE 30
WHEREAS, the City Council Of the City of Redlands is desir-
ous of seeing the best Possible transportation system for the
City of Redlands and the County of San Bernardino, and
WHEREAS, the Foothill Freeway (State Route 30) is an integral
part of the transportation system for the County of San Bernardino,
and
WHEREAS, having portions of State Route 30 in the City of
San Bernardino, City of Redlands, and County of San Bernardino in
the Federal-Aid Urban System may make funding for construction of
the Foothill Freeway possible at an earlier date than otherwise
would be the case, and
WHEREAS, the presently proposed functional classification
for State Route 30 as a Type I Urban Principal Arterial makes it
ineligible for the FAU system, and
WHEREAS, classification of the portions of State Route 30
indicated below as a Type III Urban Principal Arterial is appro-
priate for their function and will make those portions eligible
for the FAU system and funding, and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Redlands, that it hereby finds appropriate and approves the
functional classifications described as follows: -
1. State Route 30 will function as a Type III Urban Prin-
cipal Arterial between Interstate 10 and Arden Avenue
and between State Route 259 and Interstate 15E.
2 . Highland Avenue between State Route 330 and Arden Ave-
nue, State Route 30 between Arden Avenue and State Route
259, and State Route 259 between State Route 30 and
Interstate 15E will function as Type I connecting links
for State Highway Routes 330 and 18, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that State Route 30 between Inter-
state 10 and Arden Avenue and between State Route 259 and Inter-
state 15E should be -part of the Federal-Aid Urban System, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be
sent to the California Department of Transportation District 8
for its forwarding to the appropriate authorities .
