A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF REDLANDS URGING THE STATE TRANSPORTATION
COMMISSION TO APPROVE FUNDING FOR THE COMPLETION
OF THE TENNESSEE FREEWAY
WHEREAS, the Tennessee Freeway (Route 30) is an important part
of the San Bernardino - Redlands area traffic circulation system; and
WHEREAS, there are proposals to delay funding for the widening
of the Tennessee Freeway to FY 1990 from FY 1989; and
WHEREAS, the widening and installation of a divider for this
freeway between Interstate 10 and Fifth Street in San Bernardino is
essential for traffic safety; and
WHEREAS, as a result of this delay, Route 30 will be complete from
Highland Avenue to Fifth Street and would then be constricted to two
lanes from Fifth Street south to Interstate 10.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Redlands urges the State Transportation Commission to approve
funding for the completion of the Tennessee Freeway between 1-10 and
Fifth Street for the 1989 fiscal year.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 19th day of March, 1985.
