RESOLUTION NO. 6973
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ACCEPTING A PORTION OF SHOPPERS' LANE INTO THE CITY'S STREET
SYSTEM AND DEDICATING THAT PORTION OF PUBLIC PROPERTY
(SHOPPERS' LANE) FOR PUBLIC USE AS A CITY STREET (ASSESSOR'S
PARCEL NO. 0169-281-38).
WHEREAS, California Streets and Highways Code section 1806(b)generally provides that
no public or private street or road shall become a city street or road until the governing body, by
resolution, has caused the street or road to be accepted into the city street system; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of City staff that a portion of real property owned by
the City which is presently being used for street purposes ("Shoppers' Lane"), but not yet formally
dedicated by the City for public use as a public street,be accepted into the City's street system; and
WHEREAS, a map and legal description illustrating the portion of Shoppers' Lane which
shall be dedicated for public use as a public street and which is recommended by staff for acceptance
into the City's street system, is attached hereto as Exhibit "A," and incorporated herein by this
reference;
NOW,THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows:
Section 1. That portion of County of San Bernardino Assessor's Parcel No. 169-281-38
shown on the map attached hereto, and designated as Shoppers' Lane, is hereby accepted into the
City's street system and dedicated by the City for public use for street and roadway purposes.
