WHEREAS it has been determined that the present intersection contains a potential hazard to the using traffic in the non-alignment of north-south traffic lanes through the intersection, andp WHEREAS the City of Redlands has recently made certa-Ln reservation of additional right-of--way at the northwest corner of the above described intersection for future street widening and improvement, and, IMREAS there is a current construction project for a commercial building on private property adjacent to the northwest corner of said intersection which construc- tion conforms to the set-back requirement of 5$ feet from the Center line of Orange Street as prescribed in City ordinance Ifo. 904, and,, WHEREAS the City Council proposes to defray one-half of the total cost of the improvement from City Gasoline Tax a-aocation, THEREFORE the City Council desires to proceed with widening and improvement of a portion of Orange Street at the northwest corner of the intersection with Colton Avenue. TIM CITY ENGINEER. of the City of Red.,ands is directed to prepare and to submit the necessary preliminary drawings and plans and cost estimates for review by the California Division of Highways for allocation of fund: for the proposed street improvement.
