WHEREAS , the City Clerk reports that no protestA of any kind
has been filed in the proposed improvement of
Sacramento Street under Resolution of Tntention No . 554 ,
and. that the time for said protests has elapsed,
UTEREFOREp BE IT RESOLVED, That the City Council of the City of
Redlands deems that the publics interest and convenience
requires , and it hereby orders that the following work
be done , 6,nd improvement be mede in said City of
Redlands , to-wit :
To widen Sacramento Street at First Street and to open,
widen and extend Sacramento Street from Jnll Street to
State Street , where not already a public street and.
that the following land is necessary and convenient
to be taken for said opening, widening and extension.
described as follows :
Parcel one. Portion of Lot 1. Block "C" , Peller, Pratt
an re-M I Subdivision, as per plat recorded in Book 5
of Maps , Page 22 , San Bernardino County records ,
California, more particularly described as follows :
Beginning at the Northeast corner of said Lot 1, thence
Soath along the East line of said Lot , 26#70 feet , thence
Northwesterly 53,97 feet to a point on the North line of
Lot 1,, thence along said Worth line Easterly 46 .90 feet
to the point of beginning.
Parcel Two. Portion of Lot 16v Block "B": , Peller, Pratt
and xenT-all Subdivision as per plat reoorded In Book 5
of Maps , Page 22, San Bernardino County Records ,, Calif-
orima, described as follows ; Beginning at the Southeast
oorner of said Lot 16, thence Northwesterly 66 .40 feet
to a point on the West line of said Lot, said point
being 40 feet Notth of the Southwest corner of said Lot ,
thermSouth 40 feet to the Southwest corner of said Lot ;
thence East 53 feet to the point of beginning.
Parcel Three* That portion of Lot 1, Block 27 , Second
TFeT1mT'nV'yTap of Redlands , in the City of Redlands ,
County of San Bernardino , State of California, as per
plat recorded In Book 5 of Maps , page 2 , records of said
County , lying West of ill Street , as laid out on Map of
Peller, Pratt and Kendall's Subdivision of part of Lot 271,
Block 77, Rancho San Bernardino , and Dart of Lot 1,
Block 27, Second preliminary Map of Redlands, saving and
excepting therefrom that portion conveyed to the City of
Redlands for West State Street by Deed recorded
November 16 , 18961, in Book 227 of Deeds , at page 287 .
All in accordance with the plans for said improvement now on
File in the office of the City Engineer. That said work and
improvement is in the opinion of the said City Council of
general public benefit , and not of local benefit , and that
therefore the expenoe of said work and improvement is hereby
male chargeable upon the City as a whole , which is hereby
expressly declared. to be affected and benefited by said
work or improvement . It is therefore further ordered that
the necessary funds for the aaqtxisition of the lands to be
taken be expended from the funds of the City so
provided for such purpose . It is further ordered that the
sum of $125.00 be paid to Samuel Vile for aompenzat ion
for land taken, 'Parcel One , and that the said sum of
$125.00 is scans tiered a reasonable price for said
property ; and that, the sum of $350 ,50 paid to one
mart' Ramidz for compensation for lana taken,
Parcel Three, be considered a reasonable and fair
price for said property heretofore purchased for
said improvement , and that Oity Warrant issue
azoordingly, payable out of the Street Tmprovement
Fund.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the Board of TrUstees of the City of Redlands , at a
regular meeting held on the 12th day of June 1940.
