POSALS
Pursuant to Statute and Resoiution RESOLUTION 4 254 .
o Intention, No 254, of the Board of
Trustees of the City of Redlands,
adopted November 7, 1948, directing Brookside Ave. & Sixth S t.
this notice, the undersigned invites
and will receive at his office in the Macadiam.
Y M C A Building in said City,
sealed proposals or bids for the fol
lou ing street work to be done to-wit.
First That the roadway of Brook
side Avenue from the southwest line
of Citrus Avenue to the ['est bound-
ard line of said City, including all in
t.erseetions of streets; excepting the
gutterway on each side of said street,
and also excepting a space of twenty
eight feet in width, being fourteen
feet on either side of the middle line
of said street, shall be macadamized
with crushed rock base, coated with
liquid asphalt wearing sur°ace, in ac-
cordance with plans profiles, cross
sections and spectfications therefor,
on file In the office of the City Engi j
neer of said City, to all of which ref
erence is Ifereby made
Second That the roadway of Sixth
street from the south line of Citrus
Avenue to a point 12 feet north of the
center ilne of Olive Avenue, for a
width of 12 feet on each side of the
center line thereof including all inter-
sections of streets and alleyways
shall be macadamized with crushed
rock base, coated with liquid asphalt
wearing surface, in accordance with
plans profiles, cross-sections and spe
cifica.tions therefor on file in the office
of the City Engineer of said City to
all of which reference is hereby made
The bids for said work must be
separate and the bidder must file with
each proposal or bid, a check,payable
to the order of the President of the

fieri by a responsible bank, for an
amount which shall not be less than
ten per cent of the aggregate of the

amount and so payable, signed by the
bidder and by two sureties, who shall

to administer an oath, in double the
said amount and over and above all.

Notice is given to all such bidders
that the amount to be paid by said
City therefor, shall not exceed one
half of the total cost thereof and that
the other half of such cost is to be
paid by the property owners having
property abottigg upon said street
where said work is to be done and by
private contract between such prop
erty owners and such contractor to be
obt•iined by such contractor
Bids will be received up to two

be accepted, bids will be there
