I�MREAS, as a result of the construction of the State Freeway System, the highway known as 11U. S. Highway 94f1, 'Central Avenue", or "Beacon Street", has been converted into a street of the City of Redlands from Tennessee Street at the westerly city limits to Oak Street at the easterly limits; and WHEREAS, this highway is no longer a state or federal highway and has been taken under the jurisdiction of the City of Redlands; and WHEREAS, the extension of this highway from the westerly city limits to the City of Colton lies within unincorporated territory of the County of San Bernardino; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino has requested the City Council to recommend a street name for this highway; IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED: SECTION 1. That the portion of the highway known as 11U. S. Highway 9911, "Central Avenue" or "Beacon Street", lying within the City of Redlands is no longer designated a state or federal highway and has been accepted by this City Council as a street of the city. SECTION 2. That this street is a main thoroughfare of the City of Red- lands and shall be renamed tlRedlandb Boulevard". ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this third day of January, 1963.
