RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CLOSE PORTIONS OF BEACON STREET AND ROOSEVELT
ROAD.
The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF REDLANDS does resolve as follows:
SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of Redlands hereby elects
to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3 , Chapter 2 of the
Streets and Highway Code of the State of California and to vacate a part
of a street in the manner provided therein.
SECTION TV70: This City Council does hereby declare its intention to
order the vacation of a portion of BEACON STREET and ROOSEVELT ROAD,
described as follows :
All of that portion of Beacon Street and Roosevelt Road lying
between the Easterly prolongation of the Southerly line of
Tract No. 1933, Roosevelt Park Tract, as per plat recorded in
Book 28 of Maps, page 4, records of San Bernardino County,
State of California, and the Southerly line of Fern Avenue,
as shown by the Second Preliminary Map of Redlands, as per
plat recorded in Book 5 of Maps, page 2 , records of said County.
And all of the streets and alleys shown within Tract No . 1933,
Roosevelt Park Tract, as per plat recorded in Book 28 of Maps,
page 4, records of San Bernardino County, State of California.
SECTION THREE: In the proceeding herein adopted by this City Council
for the vacation of the portions of streets and alleys described in See-
tion 2. the City of Redlands reserves and excepts from the vacation the
permanent easement and right at any time, or from time to time, to cork-
struct, maintain, operate, replace, remove and renew sanitary sewers and
storm drains and appurtenant structures in, upon, over and across any
street or part thereof proposed to be vacated and pursuant to any exis-
ting franchises or renewals thereof, or otherwise, to construct, main-
tain, operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits,
cables, wirespoles, and other convenient structures, equipment and fix-
tures for the operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone
lines, railroad lines , and for the transporta,ti-on or distribution of
electric energy, petroleum, and its products ammonia, water, and inci-
dental purposes, including access and the right to keep the property free
from inflammable materials, and wood growth, and otherwise protect the
same from all hazards in, upon and over the street or part thereof pro-
posed to be vacated.
SECTION FOUR: The City Council hereby determines that the vacation

of the portions of city streets, namely those streets and alleys de-
scribed herein, is required by public interest, convenience, safety and
welfare.
SECTION FIVE: A map setting out the particulars of the proposed
street vacation shall be on file in the office of the City Clerk and
available for inspection by persons interested in or objecting to the
proposed vacation.
SECTION SIX: The City Council hereby fixes the time and date and
place of Public Hearing on the above-described proposed street closing,
at 7: 00 p.m. on the 1st day of November , 1960, in the regular
meeting place of the City Council in the City Hall, Redlands, California.
SECTION SEVEN: Within fifteen days after its passage, this resolu-
tion shall be published in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of
general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Redlands,
California.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED THIS 4th DAY OF October 1.9600
