RESOLUTION NO. 4245
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
FINDING THAT A PORTION OF A CERTAIN ALLEY IS UNNECESSARY FOR
PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE ALLEY PURPOSES AND ORDERING THE
VACATION OF SAID PORTION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby ordains
and resolves as follows:
SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of Redlands,
having elected to proceed under the provisions of Division 9 ,
Part 3 , Chapter 2, of the alleys and Highways Code of the
State of California, and having held a public hearing as
provided herein, hereby finds from all evidence submitted
that a portion of said alley described in Exhibit "A"
(attached) is unnecessary for present or prospective alley
purposes and that the public interest and convenience require
the closing of a portion of said alley. The City Council
hereby further finds that such vacation is consistent with
the City' s General Plan.
SECTION TWO: The City Council hereby orders the
vacation of a portion of said alley described in the attached
Exhibit "A. "
SECTION THREE: In the proceeding herein adopted by this
City Council for the vacation of a portion of said alley
described in the attached Exhibit "A." the City of Redlands
reserves and excepts from the vacations the permanent
easement and right at any time, or from time to time, to
construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove and renew
sanitary sewers and storm drains and appurtenant structures,
in, upon, over and across any alley or part thereof proposed
to be vacated and pursuant to any exiting franchises or
renewals thereof, or otherwise, to construct, maintain,
operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe,
conduits, cables, wires, poles and other convenient
structures, equipment and fixtures for the operation of gas
pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone lines, and for the
distribution or transportation of electric energy, water and
incidental purposes, including access and right to keep
property free from inflammable materials and wood growth, and
to otherwise protect the same from all hazards in, upon, and
over the portion of the alley proposed to be vacated.

SECTION FOUR: The City Council hereby determines that
the vacation of a portion of said alley as described in the
attached Exhibit "A" herein is required by public interest,
convenience, safety and welfare.
ADOPTED, SICKED AND APPROVED this 2nd clay of June, 1987.

A portion of an alley 14 feet wide in Block 2 of Town Plat of
Redlands as recorded in Book 5 of maps, Page 10 in the office
of the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino, State of
California more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 1 of Tract No. 11579
as recorded in Book 155 of maps, Page 5 in said office,
County and State, thence South 00 00' 48* West to its
intersection with the South line of said alley; thence
Westerly along last said line to a point, said point being 30
feet Easterly from the centerline of First Street; thence
North 0' 00' 48* East to the Southwest corner of said Lot 1;
thence South 890 59 ' 52* East to the point of beginning.
