RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE PORTIONS OF
A CERTAIN STREET IN THE CITY OF REDLANDS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of Redlands hereby elects
to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 2, of the
Street and Highways Code of the State of California and to vacate a por-
tion of a street in the manner provided therein.
SECTION TWO: The City Council does hereby declare its intention to
order the vacation of a portion of a certain street described as follows:
All of Fern Avenue lying within the southwest quarter of Section
26, Township 1 South, Range 3 West, San Bernardino Base and
Meridian as shown on the Second Preliminary Map of Redlands,
recorded in Book 5 of Maps, Page 2, records of said County, ex-
cepting therefrom any portion of said Fern Avenue lying within
the following described parcel:
Beginning at the centerline intersection of 60 ' wide Beacon
Street (now Redlands Boulevard) and 100 ' wide Fern Avenue as
shown on Berkeley Tract recorded in Book 15 of Maps, Page 86,
records of said. County; thence northeasterly along the center-
line of Fern Avenue 10 ' to the true point of beginning; thence
northwesterly along a line parallel to and 10 ' northeasterly
(measured at right angles) of the centerline of Beacon Street
(now Redlands Boulevard) a distance of 4 ' ; thence northeasterly
along a line parallel to and 4 ' northwesterly (measured at
right angles) of the centerline of Fern Avenue a distance of
12 ' to the beginning of a tangent curve concave northwesterly
and having a radius of 96 ' ; thence along said curve 150.85 '
and through a central angle of 900 02 ' 00 ' to a tangent point
on a line parallel to the centerline of Beacon Street (now
Redlands Boulevard) ; thence northwesterly along said parallel
line a distance of 16. 22 ' to the beginning of a tangent curve
concave northeasterly and having a radius of 200 ' and central
angle of 330 43 ' 00 ' ; thence along said curve a distance of
117.70 ' to a tangent point on a line parallel and 4 ' easterly
(measured at right angles) of the centerline of 60 ' wide Church
Street; thence northerly along said parallel line to an inter-
section with the centerline of Citrus Avenue; thence easterly
along the centerline of Citrus Avenue to an intersection with a
line parallel. to and 33 ' easterly (measured at right angles) of
the centerline of 60 ' Church Street; thence southerly along
said parallel line 567.65 ' to the beginning of a tangent curve
concave easterly and having a radius of 171 ' ; thence along said
curve a distance of 117. 70 ' and through a central angle of 330
43 ' to a tangent point on a line parallel to the centerline of
Beacon Street (now Redlands Boulevard) ; thence along said parallel
line, a distance of 37.71 ' to the beginning of a tangent curve
concave to the northwest and having a radius of 129' ; thence

along said curve to an intersection with a line parallel to
and 10 ' easterly (measured at right angles) of the centerline
of 60 ' wide Beacon Street (now Redlands Boulevard) ; thence
northwesterly along said parallel line to the true point of
beginning on the centerline of Fern Avenue.
SECTION THREE: The City Council hereby determines that the vaca-
tion of the portion of the certain street described herein is required
by public interest, convenience, safety and welfare.
SECTION FOUR: A map setting the particulars of the proposed street
vacation shall be on file in the office of the Department of Public
Works and available for inspection by persons interested in or objecting
to the proposed vacation.
SECTION FIVE: The City Council hereby fixes the time and date and
place of Public Hearing on the above-described street closing at 7 : 00
P.M. on the 19th day of July, 1966 in the regular meeting
place of the City Council, Redlands, California.
SECTION SIX: Within fifteen days after its passage, this resolu-
tion shall be published in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of
general circulation published and circulated in the City of Redlands ,
California.
