RESOLUTION NO. 4849 "
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
FINDING THAT A PORTION OF A CERTAIN ALLEY IS UNNECESSARY FOR
PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE STREET PURPOSES AND ORDERING THE
VACATION OF SAID PORTION (STREET VACATION NO. 102)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby ordains
and resolves as follows:
SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of Redlands,
having elected to proceed under the provisions of Division 9,
Part 3 , Chapter 2, of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California, and having held a public hearing as
provided herein, hereby finds from all evidence submitted
that said alley described in Exhibit "A" (attached hereto and
made a part thereof) is unnecessary for present or
prospective street purposes and that the public interest and
convenience require the closing of said alley. The City
Council hereby further finds that such vacation is consistent
with the City's General Plan.

TWO: The City Council hereby orders the
vacation of said alley described in the attached Exhibit "A. "
SECTION THREE: In the proceeding herein adopted by this
City Council for the vacation of said alley described in the
attached Exhibit "A. " the City of Redlands reserves and
excepts from the vacations the permanent easement and right
at any time, or from time to time, to construct, maintain,
operate, replace, remove and renew sanitary sewers and storm
drains and appurtenant structures, in, upon, over and across
any street or part thereof proposed to be vacated and
pursuant to any exiting franchises or renewals thereof, or
otherwise, to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove,
renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires,
poles and other convenient structures, equipment and fixtures
for the operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and
telephone lines, and for the distribution or transportation
of electric energy, water and incidental purposes, including
access and right to keep property free from inflammable
materials and wood growth, and to otherwise protect the same
from all hazards in, upon, and over the portions of the alley
proposed to be vacated.

SECTION FOUR: The City Council hereby determines that
the vacation of said alley as described in the attached
Exhibit "A" herein is required by public interest,
convenience, safety and welfare.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 18th day of February,
1992.

and 7 of Smiths' s Subdivision No. 3, in the City of Redlands, as
shown by plat recorded in Book 12, page 33 of Maps, records of the
recorder of the County of San Bernardino, State of California ,
described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of said Block 7, said point also
being on the Southwest line of Garden Street, 60 feet wide, thence
Westerly along the North line of said Block 7, N 87 00' 19" W 101 .90
feet , thence continuing along said North line of said Block 7, N
56 21 - 59" W, 123.93 feet to a point on the East line of Dwight
Street, 60 feet wide, said point also being the Northwest corner
of said Block 7, thence Northerly along the East Line of said
