RESOLUTION NO. 4424
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
FINDING THAT A PORTION OF A CERTAIN INTERSECTION IS UN-
NECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE STREET PURPOSES AND
ORDERING THE VACATION OF SAID PORTION (STREET VACATION NO. 95)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby ordains
and resolves as follows:
SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of Redlands,
having elected to proceed under the provisions of Division 9,
Part 3, Chapter 2, of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California, and having held a public hearing as
provided herein, hereby finds from all evidence submitted that
a portion of Fifth Street described in Exhibit "A" (attached)
is unnecessary for present or prospective street purposes and
that the public interest and convenience require the closing
of a portion of said street. The City Council hereby further
finds that such vacation is consistent with the City's
General Plan.
SECTION TWO: The City Council hereby orders the vacation
of a portion of said street described in the attached Exhibit

SECTION THREE: In the proceeding herein adopted by this
City Council for the vacation of a portion of said street
described in the attached Exhibit "A." the City of Redlands
reserves and excepts from the vacations the permanent easement
and right at any time, or from time to time, to construct,
maintain, operate, replace, remove and renew sanitary sewers
and storm drains and appurtenant structures, in, upon, over
and across any street or part thereof proposed to be vacated
and pursuant to any exiting franchises or renewals thereof, or
otherwise, to construct, maintain, operate, replacer remove,
renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires,
poles and other convenient structures, equipment and fixtures
for the operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone
lines, and for the distribution or transportation of electric

SECTION FOUR: The City Council hereby determines that
the vacation of a portion of Fifth Street as described in the
attached Exhibit "A" herein is required by public interest,
convenience, safety and welfare.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this lst day of November,
1988.

DESCRIPTION OF VACATED PORTION OF FIFTH STREET
That portion of Fifth Street, 50 feet wide, as established and
shown on the recorded map of Balcom's Addition to the City of
Redlands, dated April 7, 1.897, recorded May 6, 1.897, .in book 1.3
of Maps, page 4, Records of San Bernardino County, that is bounded
on the North by the South line of Park Avenue; on the South by the
North line of Redlands Avenue; on the West by the West line of
Fifth Street; and on the East by the West line of Block D, all as
shown on the recorded map of said Balcom's Addition.
Beginning at the Northeast corner of said Fifth Street; thence due
South, along the West line of Bleck D, 158.12 feet; thence due
West , 25.00 feet to a point on the centerline of Fifth Street;
thence due North, along said centerline, 158.12 feet to a point
on the South line of Park Avenue; thence due East, along said
line, 25.00 feet to the point of beginning.
