RESOLUTION NO. 6981
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS FINDING THAT
A PORTION OF CHURCH STREET IS UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR
PROSPECTIVE STREET PURPOSES AND ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PORTION
OF CHURCH STREET (CITY OF REDLANDS STREET VACATION NO. 153)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby resolves as follows:
SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of Redlands, having elected to proceed
under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 2, of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California, and having held a public hearing as provided therein, hereby finds from all
evidence submitted that a portion of Church Street located north of Riverview Drive, to the
northern City limits, and as more specifically described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made
a part hereof (the "Street"), is unnecessary for present or prospective public use and that the
public interest and convenience require the vacation of a portion of that Street.
SECTION TWO: The City Council hereby orders the vacation of a portion of that Street
described in the attached Exhibit "A."
SECTION THREE: In connection with the vacation of a portion of that Street described
in the attached Exhibit "A," the City of Redlands reserves and excepts from the vacation the
permanent easement and right at any time, or from time to time, to construct, maintain, operate,
replace, remove and renew water lines, sanitary sewers and storm drains and appurtenant
structures, in, upon, over, and across said street or part thereof proposed to be vacated and,
pursuant to any existing franchises or renewals thereof, or otherwise, to construct, maintain,
operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires, poles, and
other convenient structures, equipment, and fixtures for the operation of gas pipe lines,
telegraphic and telephone lines, and for the transportation or distribution of electric energy,
petroleum and its products, ammonia, and water, and for incidental purposes, including access,
and to otherwise protect these works from all hazards in, upon and over the portion of the street
proposed to be vacated.

That portion of the centerline of Church Street per Board of Supervisors Minutes in Book
E, page 428, March 25, 1889, Records of the County of San Bernardino, declaring a
highway from Redlands to Highland, lying between the quarter corner common to
Section 10 and Section 11 and a point 448.77 feet north of the southwest comer of the of
the northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 14, all in Township 1 South,
Range 3 West, San Bernardino Meridian in the City of Redlands, County of San
Bernardino, State of Cali fornia.
