RESOLUTION OF 1INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION
OF THIRD STREET 1N THE CITY OF REDLANDS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE C-ITY OF REDLINNDS DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of Redlands hereby
elects to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3, Chapter
2 of the Street and Highways Code of the State of California and to
vacate a portion of a street in the manner provided therein.
SECTION TWO: The City Council does hereby declare its intention
to order the vacation of a portion of a certain street described as
follows:
50 foot wide Third Street southerly of the easterly extension
of the north line of Lot 1, Block 3, and westerly extension
of the north line of Lot 7 , Block 6, said north lines being
the south line of 14 foot wide alley, and northerly of the
easterly extension of the south lines of Lot 1, Block 3, and
westerly extension of Lot 7, Block 6, said south lines being
the northerly line of 80 foot wide State Street in Redlands
Town Plat in the City of Redlands as recorded in Book 5 of
Maps, Page 10 thereof, records of San Bernardino County.
Reserving and excepting to the City of Redlands the permanent
easement and right in, upon, over and across said vacated
street, at any time, to construct, -maintain, operate, replace,
remove, and renew sanitary sewers and storm drains and appur-
tenant structuress to construct, maintain, o-oerate, renlace,
remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables,
wires, poles, and other convenient structures, equipment and
fixtures for the operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and
telephone lines, and for the transportation or distribution
of electric energy, water, and incidental purposes, including
the right to protect - property from- all hazards in,
access ; the
upon, and over the vacated street,- for ingress and egress for
emergency vehicles .
SECTION THREE: The City Council hereby determines that the vaca-
tion of the certain street described herein is required by public in-
terest, convenience, safety and welfare.
SECTION FOUR: A map setting the particulars of the proposed
street vacation shall be on file in the office of the Department of
Public Works and available for inspection by persons interested in or
objecting to the proposed vacation.
SECTIO FIVE: The City Council hereby fixes the time and date
and place of Public Hearing on the above described street closing at
7:00 P.M, on the 6th day of Feb uarv, 1968 in the regular meeting
place of the City Council, Redlands, California.
SECTION SIX: Within fif=teen days after its passage, this reso-
lution shall be published in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of
general circulation published and circulated it the Citv of Redlands,
California.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 16th day of January, 1968.
