HomeMy WebLinkAbout3664_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO . 3664 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS SUPPORTING THE ESCALATION OF CITY COUNCIL AND CITY STAFF INVOLVEMENT IN COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENTS WITHIN THE CITY OF REDLANDS WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has suffered loss of income to the General Fund due to Proposition 13; and WHEREAS, the City of Redlands will suffer further loss of revenue to the General Fund with the impending voter approval of Proposition 9 (Jarvis II) ; and WHEREAS, the citizens enjoy a high level of city services; and WHEREAS, in order to continue a high level of service to the citizens, additional sales tax revenues and payrolls are needed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council instructs the City Manager to immediately form a staff committee consisting of, but not limited to, himself, the Finance Director, Community Development Director, and the Building and Safety Director, to study all avenues for future city involvement in economic and industrial. development. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this committee shall work in concert with the San Bernardino County Department of Economic Development. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this committee explore the possibilities of Federal Grants through the Economic Develop- ment Authority. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager shall submit monthly progress reports to the Council commencing April 15, 1980 , and monthly thereafter with a final report to be submitted at the end of a six-month period.
