A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
URGING THE ADOPTION OF ASSEMBLY BILL 1150
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE THAT
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 1150, known as the "Parkland Dedication Bill, "
related to the amending of Section 11510 and the addition of Section
1146 to the Business and Professions Code as relating to the Subdivi-
sion Map Act would be of great benefit to all the Counties and Cities
of the State of California, and
WHEREAS, the Cities and Counties of the State are experiencing a
rapid urbanization which has and will continue to curtail necessary
funds to meet the demands of its citizens for acquiring and developing
park and recreation lands , and
WHEREAS, the Cities and Counties of the State have previously en-
countered difficulties in legally enforcing rules and regulations
necessary to obtain the required parkland dedications , or fees in lieu
of dedications, for purchase of said properties, all of which are
developing numerous problems for the present and future citizens of
the State, and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 1150 would allow the governing body of the
City or County the Legal flexibility to assure its present and future
citizens that park and recreation .lands will be reserved, acquired and
developed in accordance with an orderly master plan,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE CITY OF REDLANDS is re-
questing the Cities and Counties of the State of California., the State
League of California Cities, the State Supervisor' s Association, and
the support of other civic w-Inded agencies to support the proposed
Assembly Bill 1150.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council. of the City of
Redlands request the support of the members of the Assembly Committee
on Municipal and County Government to consider and support this Bill
and that copies of this Resolution be sent to the State Assemblymen
and Senators representing the County of San Bernardino in the State
Legislature.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Redlands at
its regular meeting held on the 4th day of May, 1965.
