A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS SUPPORTING
ASS.FiMl3F,`r' BILL 3659.
BE IT RESOLVED by the: City Council of the City of Redlands as follows
WHEREAS, existing law clods not specifically provide for financial_
assistance to public agencies seeking to reduce their use: of energy ;
and
WHEREAS, rapidly increasing energy costs are becoming an ever- increasing
portion of govpernment.al budgets ; and.
WHEREAS, energy conservation techniques have been demonstrated to he
the best way, of meeting future energy demands ancl. .extending the use of
limited energy resources into the future ; and
WHEREAS , increasing efficiencies of energy u;ipg systems is rec,nized
as one of the most cost-effective methods of reducing energy, demands ;
and.
4vE RF::AS , most public agencies Lack the financial resources necessary
to :initiate programs to improve the efficiency of their energy using
systems ; and.
WHEREAS , Ag : 659 would provide for the allocation of funis to public
agencies requesting assistance in improving their use of energy ;
NOW, F1- ERI F ORFi, BE IT RESOLVED that. the City Council of the City of
Redlands supports and urges the passage of AB 3659 by, the State
Legislature and its signing by the Governor ,
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED D this 16th day of May, 1978 by the following
vote:
