This measure is desparately needed to help alleviate the growing needs of
cities, counties, and recreation and park districts for recreation facilities,
park lands, and innovative recreational programs On a statewide basis,
deficiencies in recreational facilities at 1he local government level are

the 1974 "Californin outdoor Recreation Resources Plan" (CORRP) estimates
the statewide local park deficiency to be 127,000 acres and the regional park
deficiency to he 95,000 acres. Using an average, and conservativo, cost

California, without exception, is deficient in either local or regional parks,
Uith respect to recreation facilities, the Plan estimntes that to meet
the anticipated 1980 level of demand , a total of 59,000 can? units, 75,800
picnic units, 49,900 boat access units, and 16.100 miles of riding and hihing
trails must be added to the existing supply.
The deficiencies in our (your cit: county, or district) are just as severe.
If we are to meet the demands of car citizens, w2 must (give specific examples
of facilities or projects that are part of your recreation
