HomeMy WebLinkAbout2992_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 2992 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS URGING IMMEDIATE ACTION TO CONTROL AIR POLLUTION WHEREAS, the San Bernardino County Medical Society believes an air pollution health crisis exists in our county; and WHEREAS, the number of hours in which the health warning level of risk for patients with chronic respiratory diseases is increasing to the extent that they are deeply concerned for the health and welfare of patients; and WHEREAS, the concern and the interest that Governor Reagan is taking in the problem is well known; however, from the health standpoint it is felt that immediate action should be taken at least to reverse the increasing trend of levels of air pollutants; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we call upon the Governor to take the lead in urging the present Legislature to pass the Bills on mandatory inspection of air pollution control devices and converting of fleet vehicles in the South Coast Air Basin to alter- nate gaseous fuels.
