RESOLUTION NO . 2460
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS SUPPORTING THE
CITIES OF BARSTOW AND VICTORVILLE IN THEIR EFFORTS
TO HAVE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF
SAN BERNARDINO CONSOLIDATE THE BARSTOW AND VICTOR
JUDICIAL DISTRICTS INTO ONE JUDICIAL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the legal effect of this action would do away
with two existing ,justice courts , thereby creating a Municipal
Court District , and
WHEREAS, the residents of the high desert are required to
travel between 70 and 400 miles round trip for specific actions ,
mechanics ' lien cases , unlawful detainer cases (eviction) where
the monthly rent exceeds $125 . 00 per month, and
WHEREAS, the desert residents represent twenty per cent of
San Bernardino County' s population and has thirty per cent sof
the assessed valuation of the county,
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED:
Section 1 .
The City Council, for and on behalf of the people of the
City of Redlands , supports the people of the City of Barstow
and the City of Victorville in acquiring the additional County
Junction.
Section; 2.
That certified copies of the resolution be sent to the
Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino , Supervisor
Wesley Break and the respective mayors of the Cities of Barstow
and Victorville .
