A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS SUP-
PORTING THE APPLICATION OF C-AIR INCORPORATED TO THE PUBLIC
UTILITIES COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Or REDLANDS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE THAT:
WHEREAS , the application of C & W Aviation, a corporation, DBA
C--Air, Inc . , to the Public Utilities Commission, State of California,
for a certificate of public convenience and necessity as a passenger
air carrier between the airports of Long Beach, Riverside , Redlands
and Los Angeles International Airport , is required, and
WHEREAS , many industrial and commercial enterprises located in
the eastern end of the Inland Empire , comprising several cities includ-
ing the City of Redlands , as well as individuals residing in this area,
have frequent requirements to travel to and from Los Angeles and points
beyond, such as Chicago , Washington D. C. and New York City, and
WHEREAS , surface transportation between the eastern end of the In-
land Empire and Los Angeles International Airport is limited to either
very infrequent public bus and rail transportation, or a slow traffic-
congested journey by private automobile , and
WHEREAS , the eastern end of the Inland Empire does not have avail-
able dependable , economical and frequent fixed-wing public air trans-
portation between the area and Los Angeles International Airport , and
WHEREAS , the existence of frequent and economical air transporta-
tion, which can be depended upon by travelers even under weather con-
ditions requiring instrument flight rules at Los Angeles International
Airport , is considered critically essential to the economic growth of
the eastern portion of the Inland Empire , especially the City of Red-
lands , and
WHEREAS , C-Air has demonstrated the capability to satisfy this
need for frequent economical , and above all , dependable air transporta-
tion between the area and. Los Angeles International Airport , even under
weather conditions which require the use of instrument flight rules , and
WHEREAS , enthusiastic acceptance of this C-Air service to the In-
land Empire area by the public has been demonstrated by a steady and
continuous increase in passenger traffic since the service was started
on June 15 , 1965 ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1 : That the City Council , for and on behalf of the people
of the City of Redlands , supports the application of C & W Aviation to
the Public Utilities Commission for a certificate of convenience and
necessity as a passenger air carrier between the airports of Long Beach,
Riverside , Redlands and Los Angeles International Airport .
Section 2 : That certified copies of this Resolution be sent to
the Public Utilities Commission, State of California , and the Director
of Aeronautics , Department of Aeronautics , State of California.
