HomeMy WebLinkAbout2654_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 2654 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS CONCERNING LEGISLATION TO FINANCE COMPLETION OF STATE WATER PROJECT WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Redlands has long taken the position that the California Water Project should be completed on time as originally projected and has made every effort to assure that such was accomplished, and WHEREAS , this Council has strenuously opposed any plan for deferring construction of the southern end of the California Aqueduct or the Perris Reservoir, and WHEREAS , the representatives of this area in the Legislature have worked diligently in support of the position of this City and the public welfare, and WHEREAS , this Council is informed that legislation will be intro- duced at the 1968 General Session of the Legislature to provide for the transfer of sufficient tidelands oil revenues and for other finan- cial adjustments so as to make the necessary funds available to com- plete the California Water Project on schedule and that the said legislation will be supported by the administration. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Redlands declares its most vigorous support for such legislation, and its request that it be enacted on a priority basis, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be sent to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Senators Cologne and Coombs, Assemblymen Hinckley, Quimby, Biddle, and Veysey, and to the Director of the Department of Water Resources and to all members of the California Water Commission.
