RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
SUPPORTING PROPOSITION NO. 5, RELATING TO STATE TAXA-
TION OF BANKS, CORPORATIONS , FRANCHISES AND INSURERS,
ON THE JUNE 8, 1976, BALLOT.
WHEREAS, the ballot of the June 8, 1976, primary election
will contain a measure to eliminate the extraordinary vote
requirement, which protects banks and corporations, and their
franchises and insurers, and authorizes the Legislature to act
by majority vote in considering such tax measures, just as it
does now with respect to all other state imposed taxes, and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Redlands desires
to support the Legislature in this matter,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City
Council of the City of Redlands urge the voter's to vote "Yes"
on Proposition No. 5 at the forthcoming primary election.
ADOPTED, SIGNED, AND APPROVED this 18th day of May, 1976.
