RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF CONTINUED BUS SERVICE BY RAPID
TRANSIT DISTRICT TO THE REDLANDS AREA AS IN THE PAST
WHEREAS, this City Council has been informed that the Rapid
Transit District proposes to discontinue bus service to the
Redlands area in the San Bernardino Valley; and
WHEREAS, many residents of the City of Redlands, and of un-
incorporated areas of San Bernardino County immediately adjacent
to the city, have depended upon the R.T.D. bus service for essen-
tial transportation needs for many years; and
WHEREAS, discontinuation of the R.T.D. bus service will cause
a hardship to such residents, and they have requested this City
Council to -make their concern known to the Rapid Transit District,
the Public Utilities Commission, and all other State agencies
which may have jurisdiction and control over the R.T.D. operation,
THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION 1. That the City Council urges that adequate bus
service be continued in the eastern area of the San Bernardino
Valley, and particularly in the vicinity of Redlands.
SECTION 2 . That the City Council recommends that the Rapid
Transit District explore feasible methods for continuing service
as in the past to the Redlands area.
