HomeMy WebLinkAbout4525_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 4525 A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Redlands, State of California, supporting Senate Bill 258 which would enact the Torres-Campbell Recreation and Fitness Act of 1989 . WHEREAS, the Torres--Campbell Recreation and Fitness Act of 1989 would authorize the California Department of Parks and Recreation to provide funds, as specified, to local public authorities for recreation and fitness programs promoting health and physical fitness of children and youth, and providing safe and supportive settings after school and during vacation periods. WHEREAS, the bill would appropriate $2,000,000 from the State General Fund to the California Department of Parks and Recreation for the 1989-90 fiscal year for grants to public authorities for the purposes of the bill. WHEREAS, the bill would require the California Department of Parks and Recreation to report specified information to the Legislature annually on the statewide activities during the previous fiscal year. WHEREAS, the City of Redlands is committed to provide maximum leisure opportunities for its constituency. WHEREAS, the availability of monies generated by Senate Bill 258 would allow the City of Redlands to increase its overall programs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Redlands hereby: Supports the Torres-Campbell Recreation and Fitness Act of 1989, (Senate Bill 258) , as described above.
