HomeMy WebLinkAbout3596_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO . 3596 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS REQUESTING THE SUPPORT OF OUR REPRESENTATIVES , THE HONORABLE ROBERT B. PRESLEY, STATE SENATOR, AND THE HONORABLE WILLIAM R. LEONARD, STATE ASSEMBLYMAN, FOR THE ADOPTION OF SENATE BILL 348 CONCERNING WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE . WHEREAS, the City of Redlands encourages the continual improvement of governmental efficiency; and WHEREAS, the Labor Code of the State of California prolif- erates duplication of effort, paper work, and expenditure of manhours of labor through its provision that a certificate of workers compensation insurance must be filed by every contractor in each and every locale as a condition of obtaining a building permit; and WHEREAS, there are a multitude of building departments pro- cessing such compensation insurance certificates; insurance companies providing a continuous flow of certificate copies to their contractor' s clients; and contractors facing time delays until the paper work of the certificates are furnished to the proper building department; and WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 348 resolves these duplications by directing one agency, the State Contractors License Board, to maintain the records of its contractors workers compensation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the City of Redlands does urge and request our representatives, the Honorable Senator Robert B. Presley and the Honorable Assemblyman William R. Leonard to actively support and promote the passage of Senate Bill No . 348 . ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of July, 1979 .
