A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS APPROVING
THE PROPOSED FEDERAL-AID HIGHWAY SYSTM4S IN THE URBANIZED AREAS OF
SAN BERNARDINO AND RIVERSIDE COUNTIES.
WHEREAS, the United States Code, Title 23 - Highways , Section 103 ,
Subsection (d) , calls for the establishment of a Federal-Aid Urban
System of Highways in urbanized areas , and
WHEREAS , the Federal Highway Administrator has emphasized that,
because of the objective of putting the new urban funds to use as
quickly as possible, the initially selected highways will form an
interim Federal-Aid Urban System, which, pending a more comprehen-
sive analysis of future urban. programs as part of the 1972 Congres-
sional Need Report, will form the core of the future Federal-Aid
Urban System, and
WHEREAS, the establishment of said system necessitated or otherwise
made appropriate a complete review of and revisions to all Federal-
Aid Systems in urbanized areas , and
WHEREAS , the Federal Highway Administrator, in having final approval
of all Federal-Aid Highway Systems , has issued specific instructions
on selecting eligible highways for each of the Federal-Aid Systems ,
and
WHEREAS , We, the City of Redlands , in cooperation with the California
Division of Highways , have complied with the foregoing.
NOW., THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Redlands on October 19,
1971, that the proposed Federal-Aid Highway Systems in the urbanized
areas of the City of Redlands , as shown on the accompanying maps
marked Exhibit "A" , are approvedto the Federal High -
way
for submission to
Administration, California Division. Engineer.
ADOPTED this 19th day Of Oct -Ober, 1971 .
