RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA
SIGNIFYING ITS INTENTION TO ENGAGE IN THE TOPICS PROGRAM AND
REQUESTING THE IPARrzfE!Tf OF PUBLIC WORKS, STATE OF CALIFORNIA 0t
C01MBINE THE CITY' S FISCAL YEAR 1969-70 AP PORT 10ME NT OF TOPICS
FUNDS WITH ITS APPORTTOIMET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1970- 11

WHEREAS' a Federal Program for traffic capacity and traffic safety
known- as TOPICS is being implemented under the sponsorship of the
various state governments ; and
WHEREAS the State of California allocation has been further appor-
tioned to provide TOPICIS, funds for Fiscal Years 1969-70 and 1970-71
to the City of Redlands in the amount of $38 , 118. 00; and
WHEREAS the City of Redlands has substantial traffic capacity and
traffic safety problems which would be lessened by the use of
TOPICS funds projects ;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Redlands will actively
participate in the TOPICS program, including the budgeting of the
City` s share of matching project funds in accordance with the per-
centages already established (71. 31T. TOPICS apportionment and 28. 69%
City funds) .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council, City of Redlands
desires to acciamulate TOPICS funds and combine the 1969-70 with
the 197/0-71 apportionment to finance more substantive projects ,
