A RESOLUTION OF THE CITE' COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ELIMINATING A CITY STREET FROM THE FEDERAL AID TYPE II
SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands participated in the Federal. Aid
Program known as "Traffic Operations Program to Increase Capacity
and Safety (TOPICS) " and
WHEREAS, in order to participate in the TOPICS program, it
was necessary for the City Council to adopt a Federal Aid Type II
System of streets, and
WHEREAS, the 'TOPICS program is no longer in existence, and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has applied for a Federal Grant
of $75,000 under Section. 230 of the Federal Highway Safety Act,
also known as the Federal Highway Safer Roads Demonstration: Pro-
gram., and
WHEREAS, the grant will be used to replace the open drain
along Garden Street with a reinforced concrete pipe between
Eucalyptus Street and 600 feet southeasterly, and
WHEREAS, any funds obtained under Section 230 of the Federal
Highway Safety Act cannot be used on any street presently desig-
nated as being on any Federal. Aid system of streets, and
WHEREAS, Garden Street is on the Federal. Aid Type II system,
then
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Redlands hereby deletes Garden Street in the City of Redlands
from its Federal. Aid Type II system of streets .
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this lst day of April, 1975.
