A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
APPROVING A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO SUBSCRIBERS RATES FOR
THE COMMUNITY ANTENNA TELEVISION SYSTEM TO PROVIDE FOR
COPYRIGHT LIABILITY FEES .
WHEREAS, Televents of Redlands , Inc. has requested an
amendment to the community antenna television system fees, to allow
Televents of Redlands , Inc. to additionally collect from its sub-
scribers any copyright liability fees or ether fees imposed by any
legislation or regulation (federal, state or local) .
WHEREAS , this City Council desires to act affirmatively on
the requested fee change in accordance with Ordinance No. 1445.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redlands as follows :
1. Should copyright liability fees be required of Televents
of Redlands, Inc. under federal authority, Televents of Redlands, Inc.
shall have the right to increase its rates for regular subscriber
service to offset such liability. Any increase so made shall be
limited to the amount of liability imposed.
2. No later than concurrently with the subscriber billing
on which a copyright fee offset charge first appears , Televents of
Redlands, Inc. shall inform each subscriber as to the nature and
approximate amount of the monthly offset charge. Further, Televents
of Redlands , Inc. shall arrange to carry the monthly offset charge
as a separate designated line item on its subscriber balling sheet.
3 . The City Council reserves the right to review the offset
charge at any time and to make any adjustments to such offset charge
as it considers appropriate.
