RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ESTABLISHING POLICY REGARDING THE TERMS OF OFFICE FOR
COMMISSION AND ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS AND RESCINDING
RESOLUTION NO. 3708 .
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this City Council to limit
the terms of all appointed individuals to commissions and
advisory bodies with the exception of the Library Board; and
WHEREAS, effective this date forward, the following
policy applies regarding the terms and conditions that
appointed individuals will serve under; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of this City Council to
abide by the following policy:
1. All individuals appointed to any commission or
advisory body, currently in existence or to be
created in the future, will be limited to two (2)
terms.
2 . Appointments made to fill an unexpired term will
constitute a full term if more than half a term
remains; i.e. , if a term is four years and an
appointment for an unexpired term is for two (2)
years or more, this constitutes a full term.
3 . After serving two (2) full terms, one year must
elapse before the City Council may reappoint an
individual to the same commission or advisory body,
although that person may be appointed, at any time,
to a different commission or advisory body of the
city.

1987.
