HomeMy WebLinkAbout8797RESOLUTION NO. 8797 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS APPROVING AGREEMENTS FOR THE REDLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT SAFETY HALL PROJECT PHASE II WHEREAS, in March 2022, the City acquired the facility located at 1625 W. Redlands Blvd. for the purpose of establishing a new Redlands Police Department Safety Hall; and WHEREAS, in September 2023, the City Council awarded a contract to Tilden -Coil Constructors, Inc., for master construction management services for Redlands Police Department Safety Hall; and WHEREAS, in April 2026, the City Council awarded two (2) Construction Agreements for Redlands Police Department Safety Hall Project Phase I for Earthwork, Demolition, and Abatement; and WHEREAS, in preparation for work to begin, staff advertised formal Requests for Bids (RFBs) for the provision of services as described below; and WHEREAS, to commence construction for the Redlands Police Department Safety Hall Project Phase II and in accordance with the City's purchasing policy and guidelines, twenty-four (24) Construction Agreements, which are set forth in Exhibit "A" and attached hereto, have been prepared for City Council's approval; and WHEREAS, the City Council delegates authority to execute the agreements, amendments, change orders or other related documents to the City Manager, or designee; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Redlands Municipal Code Section 2.16.140, for public projects, the total amount of change orders shall not exceed twenty-five percent (25%) of the amount of the original Agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council hereby approves twenty-four (24) Construction Agreements set forth in Exhibit "A," to provide various construction services for the Redlands Police Department Safety Hall Project Phase II for a total not -to -exceed amount of $49,742,404. Section 2. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to execute any subsequent change orders to the twenty-four (24) Construction Agreements. Section 3. The City Council hereby approves an additional appropriation in the amount of $49,742,404.00 in the Safety/City Hall Replacement Fund. Section 4. The City Council hereby determines that the approval of the twenty-four (24) Construction Agreements described in this resolution is exempt from environmental review pursuant 1AResolutions\Res 8700-8799\8797 - RPDSH Phase 10m,06.18.2026.doex to Section 15061(b)(3) of the State's Guidelines implementing the California Environmental Quality Act.
