A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS PURSUANT TO TITLE 10 OF
THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE
Pursuant to studies made under authority of Title 10 of
the Redlands Municipal Code, and the presentation of
information gained in such studies, the City Council hereby
finds and determines that traffic conditions and the
convenience of the public require that certain regulations
are necessary and shall be established, pursuant to Title 10
of the Redlands Municipal Code, and the Traffic Engineer of
the City of Redlands is hereby directed to perform such acts
as are necessary to accomplish the following :
SECTION ONE: Pursuant to Section 10 . 24 . 010 of the
Redlands Municipal Code a traffic engineering investigation
has been conducted for the following highway and the
following speed limit is hereby found most appropriate to
facilitate the orderly movement of traffic and is reasonable
and safe:
HIGHWAY: Alta Vista Drive
Date of Study: November 12 , 1990
Speed Limit as Follows:
35 miles per hour between Florida Street and Sunset
Drive
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 15th day of January,
1991 .

4K BALL BANK INDICATOR TEST ON ALTA VISTA DRIVE FROM FLORIDA
STREET TO SUNSET DRIVE
Ball bank indicator tests were taken on Alta Vista Drive from
Florida Street to Sunset Drive.
Safe speeds at each of the curves are as follows:
Direction of Travel
Curve East West
#1 38 mph 43 mph
#2 36 mph 34 mph
#3 33 mph 38 mph
#4 37 mph 35 mph
Please refer to the map for curve locations. The current speed
limit is 35 mph in this area. It is recommended that no change
be made.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
I move to recommend to Council that the speed limit on Alta
Vista Drive remain at 35 miles per hour.
