HomeMy WebLinkAbout3685_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 3685 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 67 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE SECTION ONE: Pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 21101, the Chief of Police of his designee may cause the temporary closure of any street or highway for celebrations, parades, special events, and other purposes when in his or his designee' s opinion such closure is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to use the portion of the street during the temporary closing. SECTION TWO: The Chief of Police or his designee shall cause traffic control signs or persons authorized to direct traffic to be placed at all entrances to the highway or parts thereof affected. Brickley Chief of Police SUBJECT: City Council Agenda Item 1 Request that the City Council adopt a Resolution author- izing the Chief of Police to temporarily close City streets for special events where in the opinion of the local authorities such closure is necessary for the safety and protection of per- sons who are to use that portion of the street during the tem- porary closure. (See California Vehicle Code Section 21101e) This Resolution is necessary in order that the Chief of Police have the authority to deal with the requests received for tem- porary street closures during special events. Attached please find the proposed Resolution for your consideration and action. I would be pleased to provide any additional information requested.
