HomeMy WebLinkAbout7105_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION'NO. 7105 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AUTHORIZING TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT ON CERTAIN PRIVATE STREETS WITHIN THE CITY WHEREAS,California Vehicle Code section 21107.5 authorizes a City to adopt an ordinance or resolution, following a public hearing, finding and declaring that certain privately owned and maintained streets are so connected with public streets or highways that the public cannot determine that the private streets are not public streets or highways, and upon adoption of such an ordinance or resolution the provisions of the California Vehicle Code be-come applicable to and enforceable on those private streets; and WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Redlands hereby in-tends to utilize such authorization and thereby authorize(but not mandate)police officers of the City of Redlands to enforce any and all California Vehicle Code regulations, including but not limited to traffic and parking regulations,within the private streets; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows: Section 1. The City Council hereby finds and declares that,following ten days prior notice to the owner thereof and the conclusion of a public hearing thereon, the following streets providing internal circulation depicted on the attached map are privately owned and maintained and so connected with public streets and highways that the public cannot determine that the streets are not public highways. Pursuant to California Vehicle Code section 21107.5, the City Council hereby authorizes (but does not mandate) police officers of the City of Redlands to enforce any and all California Vehicle Code regulations, including but not limited to traffic and parking regulations, within these specified private streets: 1. Delaware Avenue 2. Sixth Street 3. Sharon Road 4. Holly Lane Section 2. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the adoption of this resolution is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act(CEQA)pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21080(b)(ll)(1)because this Resolution approves fees for the purpose of meeting the operating expenses of the City.
