HomeMy WebLinkAbout3797_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 3797 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 67 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE Pursuant to studies made in accordance with Chapter 67 of the Redlands Ordinance Code and the presentation of information gained in such studies, the City Council hereby finds and determines that traffic conditions and the convenience of the public require that certain regu- lations are necessary and shall be established. SECTION ONE: Pursuant to Section 22357 of the California Vehicle Code and Section 68001 (a) of the Redlands Traffic Ordinance, the following highway has been studied and the following speed limits are hereby found most appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic and are reasonable and safe. Highway: Judson Street Date of Study: August 18, 1981 Speed Limits as Follows : 35 MPH on Judson Street between Pioneer Avenue and Citrus Avenue ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of November, 1981. ayo ' of C O e can ATTEST: ,' ` �r-' City "k (� ENGINEERING, TRAFFIC AND SPEED SURVEY Highway Under Study: , Judson Street Area of: Between Pioneer Avenue and Citrus Avenue Date of Survey: August 18, 1981 RECOMMENDATIONS: Based on the facts of this survey, it is recommended that Judson Street between Pioneer Avenue and Citrus Avenue be posted for 35 M.P.H. The area between Pioneer Ave. and Lugonia Ave. contains seven intersections, five of which are uncontrolled. The area is currently under develop- ment and will qualify under C.V.C. 22352 (b-1) - (Residence/Business District) for a 25 M.P.H. zone. The roadway width varies from 26 Ft. to 44 Ft. The area between Lugonia Ave. and Colton Ave. meets the requirements of C.V.C. Section 22352 (b-1) - (Residential/Business District) for a 25 M. P.H., sone. The area contains seven intersections , five of which are uncontrolled. The roadway width varies from 63 Ft. to 51 Ft. to 60 Ft. The area between Colton Ave. and Citrus Ave. contains five intersections, two of which are uncontrolled. The roadway width varies from 40 Ft. to 60 Ft. The observed critical speeds were as follows: MPH Pace Average Between Pioneer Ave. and Lugonia Ave. 36 28-38 32 Between Lugonia Ave and Colton Ave 38 32 Between Colton Ave and Citrus Ave 36 30 Taking these facts into consideration, a speed limit of__3.5 MPH. would be appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic in a safe and reasonable manner. Judson Street Page 2 It is recommended that the roadway be sign posted as follows: 1. Post 35 M.P.H. signs for North/bound traffic: a. Just north of Citrus Avenue b. Just north of Colton Avenue C. Just north of Brockton Avenue d. Just north of Lugonia Avenue e. Just north of Sylvan Boulevard 2. Post 35 M.P.H. signs for South/bound traffic: a. Just south of San Bernardino Avenue b. Just south of Lugonia Avenue C. Just south of Brockton Avenue d. Just south of Colton Avenue e. Just south of Sylvan Boulevard. CLETUS F.
