The item was tabled until a new ball bank indicator was obtained and ball bank indicator tests could be taken. Those tests were taken on March 12, 1990. The graph sheets are attached. There are six curves on the section of West Mariposa Drive between Rossmont Drive and Dwight Street. The curves on either end are less severe than the curves in the middle section. The safe speed to negotiate the curves at either end is 20 miles per hour. The safe speed around the curves in the center section is 15 miles per hour. A 20 mile per hour speed limit could be set on the section with advisory curve signs noting 15 miles per hour at either end of the section with the severest curves. RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to recommend to the Council the establishment of a 20 mile per hour speed limit on Mariposa Drive between Rossmont Drive and Dwight Street. Further that curve warning signs with 15 mile per hour advisory plates be installed on the section with the severest curves.
