A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS PURSUANT
TO CHAPTER 67 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE
Pursuant to studies made under authority of Chapter 67 of
the Redlands Ordinance Code, and the presentation of information
gained in such studies, the City Council hereby finds and deter-
mines that traffic conditions and the convenience of the public
require that certain regulations are necessary and shall be
established, pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Redlands Ordinance
Code, and the Traffic Engineer of the City of Redlands is hereby
directed to perform such acts as are necessary to accomplish the
following:
SECTION ONE: Pursuant to Article 677, Section 67707, of the
Redlands Traffic Ordinance:
1 . Establish "No Parking" in front of the Brookside Palms
Apartments at 1076 Brookside Avenue.
SECTION TWO: Pursuant to Article 678 , Section 67801, of the
Redlands Traffic Ordinance:
1 . Establish "No Parking" for bus loading zones at the
following locations:
a. West side of Orange Street beginning 78 feet south
of Colton Avenue - 55 feet in length.
b. West side of Cajon Street, north of Fern Avenue,
from corner - northerly 117 feet in length
C . East side of Cajon Street, north of Cypress Avenue,
from corner - 70 feet in length.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 5th day of January, 1982 .

I. Request for four--way stop signs at Hilton Ave,at Franklin Ave, at Central Ave,
and at Grove Street. Public Request.
A. Ron Mutter, of Public Works made a presentation indicating that their
had been no collisions at the two intersections and that the Traffic
counts would not warrant replacing the stop signs. Steve Crotinger
made a motion to deny the request for the stop signs at both intersec-
tions. The motion was seconded by R. Schultes and passed unanimously.
II. Request for no parking in front of the Brookside Palm Apartments at 1076
Brookside Ave. Request rude by Traffic Commission.

09 A. After a presentation by Ron Mutter, and Sgt. Hyman a motion was made
by R. Schultes to establish a no parking zone on Brookside Ave. at
3� 1076 Brookside Ave. The motion was seconded by James Celano and pas-
sed unanimously.
111. Report on Post Office this policy regarding mail delivery to curbside mail
boxes with vehicles parked in front of them. The request made by the Traffic
Commission.
A. Ron Mutter, of the Public Works Department indicated that he had contacted
the Post Master regarding the Postal Services Policy of not delivering mail
to mail boxes with cars parked in front of them. According to the Post,"
Master it is the policy to request local homeowners not to park their
vehicles in front of mail boxes. If the same vehicle is parked in front
of the mail continuously that a notice is delivered requesting the home
owners cooperation. He further relines that it is impossible to paint
red curbs in front of all mail boxesand stated that the Postal and stated
that the Postal Service will continue to deliver mail whether or not at.
car is parked in front of the mail box.
IV. Request that for Ba.let parking at 17 & 19 East Citrus Ave. Request made by
White Yeomen.
A. Sgt. Hyman indicated that the California Vehicle Code indicated that it was
illegal for a Balet Service to park vehicles on a public street. The
Redlands City Ordinance makes California Vehicle Code Sections applicable to
all municipal parking facilities. A motion was made by James Celano to
deny the request. The motion was seconded by Ron Stutt and passed unanimously.
V. Request for reflector markings on crosswalks on Colton Ave at the university of
Redlands. The request was made by the Associated Students, Univerlity of Redlands.
A. The requesting party was unable to attend the meeting and requested that
item be tabled to next meeting. The item was so tabled.
VI. Request for study for Driveway exits on the west side of Orange Street south
of Brockton Ave. Request made by Frank Moore, of 1007 Orange Street.
A. Presentation was made by Mr. Moore, indicating his reasons why he felt the
study should be made of the above problem. Public Works was ordered by
the Traffic Commission to study the possible problems.
VII. Request for no parking at various bus loading zones. Request made by Omni Trans.
A. Public Works Department indicated that Omni Trans. had contacted them asking
for bus loading zones at four locations;
1. On the west side of Orange Street south of Colton Ave.
2. On the west side of Cajon Street north of Fern Ave.
3. On the north side of Cypress Ave west of Cajon Street
4. On the east side of Cajon Street north of Cypress Ave.
Ron nutter indicated that the Public Works Department had no objections
to the placement of the red zones on locations 1, 2, & 4 . Mr. Mutter
indicated that the red zone at location No.#3 would hardship for the
residence of the apartment building at that Location. After a general
discussion James Celano made a motion to approve the request for the bus
Loading zones at locations, 1, 2, & 4. The motion was seconded by Steve
Crotinger and passed unanimously.
VIII. Request for green curb zone at exsisting red curb zone on Eureka Street south
of Brookside Ave at the Post Office. The request was public request.
A. After presentations by Ron Mutter and Sgt. Hyman and a general discussion
a motion was made by James Celano to deny the request for the green zone on
Eureka Street south of Brookside Ave. A motion was seconded by R. Schultes
and passed unanimously.
IX. Request for a stop sign placement on Canyon Road at the driveway to the Redlands
Country Club. Request was made by the Redlands Country Club.
A. A presentation was made by Ron Mutter of the Public Works Department indicating
that their were no warrants for the stop sign and that the city should be
carefull of starting president of stopping thru traffic for a private drive.
Sgt. Hyman indicated that their had been no collision at the above location and
that he felt that their should be placed on a public street at an entrance
to a private drive. Sgt. that a stop sign would cause a false sence of
security for those persons entering and exiting the Country Club as they would
still have the legal requirements to yeilding the northbound vehicles of Canyon
Drive. Sgt. Hyman also voiced concern of setting a president in stopping a public
thoroughfair at a private garage.
B. ?ion Ikeman, Vice President of the Redlands Country Club, made a presentation
stating why the Country Club felt that the stop sign should be placed on
Canyon- Drive. Mr. Ikeman indicated that their was far more traffic going
in and out of the Country Club then their was on Canyon Drive. After a long
discussion a motion was made by James Celano to table the request for one
month. The motion was seconded by James Hatfield and passed unanimously.
