HomeMy WebLinkAbout4379_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 4379 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 67 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE Pursuant to studies made in accordance with Chapter 67 of the Redlands Ordinance Code and the presentation of information gained in such studies, the City Council hereby finds and determines that traffic conditions and the convenience of the public require that certain regulations are necessary and shall be established. SECTION ONE: Pursuant to Section 40802 (b) of the California Vehicle Code the following highway has been studied and the following speed limits are hereby found most appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic and are reasonable and safe. Highway: Crescent Avenue Date of Study; February 25 , 1988 Speed Limits as Follows: 25 MPH between Ramona Drive and Alessandro Road 30 mph between Alessandro Road and Serpentine Drive ADOPTEE), SIGNED AND APPROVED this 5th day of July, 1988 . 141) ATTEST: Mayor of the City of Redlands City Jerk ENGINEERING, TRAFFIC AND SPEED SURVEY HIGHWAY UNDER SURVEY: Crescent Avenue AREA OF: Ramona Drive/Serpentine Drive DATE OF SURVEY: February 25, 1988 RECOMMENDATIONS Based on the facts of this survey, it is recommended that Crescent Avenue between Ramona Drive and Alessandro Street be posted for 25 mph. There are ten intersections. The area meets the requirements of CVC 22352 (b-1) (residential district) for a 25 mph speed limit. Critical Speed Pace Speed Average Speed 30 mph 20-30 25 Between Alessandro Street and Serpentine Drive, it is recommended that Crescent Avenue be posted for 30 mph. There are seven intersections and a curve in the roadway. Critical Speed Pace Speed Average Speed 34 mph 26-36 29 Taking the above facts into consideration, a speed limit of 25 mph between Ramona and Alessandro and 30 mph between Alessandro and Serpentine Drive would be appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic in a safe and reasonable manner. The area should be sign posted as follows for 25 mph. 1. For westbound traffic: a. Just west of Ramona Drive b. Just west of Center Street 2 . For eastbound traffic: a. Just east of Alessandro b. Just east of Center Street The area should be sign posted as follows for 30 mph. 2. a. Just west of Alessandro b.
