RESOLUTION NO. 8696 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 67 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE Pursuant to studies made in accordance with Chapter 67 of the Redlands Ordinance Code and the presentation of information gained in such studies, the City Council hereby finds and determines that traffic conditions and the convenience of the public require that certain regulations are necessary and shall be established. SECTION ONE: Pursuant to Section 40802 (b) of the California Vehicle Code and Article 680, Section 68001 (a) of the Redlands Traffic Ordinance, the following highway has been studied and the following speed limit is hereby found most appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic and is reasonable and safe. Taylor City Attorney ENGINEERING, TRAFFIC AND SPEED SURVEY Highway under Survey: Carden Street Area of : Between Cajon Street and Mariposa Drive Date of Survey: May 22, 1980 RECOMMENDATIONS: Tt is recommended, based on the facts of this survey, that Garden Street between Cajon Street and Mariposa Drive remain posted as a 35 MPH zone. The area between Cajon Street and Elizabeth Street meets the requirements of CVC 22352 b-I (residential area) for a 25 MPH zone. The area between Elizabeth Street and Mariposa Avenue does not meet the requirements of 22352 CVA but is only 32 feet wide and has several curves in the roadway. The observed critical speeds were 40 MPH at Hilton Avenue (pace 30 to 40, average 35) , 38 MPH at Elizabeth Str6et (pace 30 to 40, average 33) , and 38 MPH at North Garden Hill (pace 30 to 40, average 34) . Taking the above facts into consideration, a speed limit of 35 MPH would be appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic in a safe and reasonable manner. The area should be sign posted as follows: 1. For south bound traffic a) Just S/of Hilton Avenue b) Just S/of Elizabeth 2 .
