A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AUTHORIZING
APPLICATION FOR FY 1999-2000 TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITIES
CALL FOR PROJECTS.
WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Transportation, District 8,
Landscape Architecture and the City of Redlands has submitted a combined Transportation
Enhancement Activity for the Fiscal Year 1999-2.000 Transportation Enhancement Activities Call
for Projects;
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands possesses legal authority to nominate the City of
Redlands' portion of the transportation enhancement activity to finance, acquire, and construct the
proposed project;
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands will maintain and operate the property acquired,
developed, rehabilitated, or restored for the He of the activity in those areas of the project currently
maintained under agreement with the State of California, Department of Transportation;
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands will give the California Department of
Transportation's representative access to and the right to examine all records, books, papers, or
documents related to the transportation enhancement activity;
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands will cause work on the City's portion of the
.project to be commenced within a reasonable time after receipt of notification from the States that
funds have been approved by the Federal Highway Administration and that the project will be
carried to completion with reasonable diligence;
WHEREAS, The City of Redlands will comply where applicable with provisions of
the California Environmental Quality Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Americans'
with Disabilities Act, the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and
Historic Preservation, and any other federal, state and/or local laws, rules and/or regulations;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the City of Redlands authorizes the
nomination of the transportation enhancement activity, including all understanding and assurances
contained therein;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Redlands authorizes the person
identified as the official representative of the Administering Agency to act in connection with the
nomination and to provide such additional information as may be required.
