A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
RECOMMENDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A LAW SCHOOL AT THE
UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, RIVERSIDE
WHEREAS, there is a great need for a publicly funded law
school in the Inland area which will make quality legal education
available to a different socia-economic strata of students as well
as under-represented students; and
WHEREAS, despite the size and distribution of the population
of our state, only one of the four law schools in the University of
California system is located in Southern California and none in the
Inland area; and
WHEREAS, a law school at the University of California,
Riverside could provide the perfect site to satisfy the needs of
location and economy, and also assist under-represented students to
obtain the quality legal education that a University of California
school can provide;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Redlands recommends the establishment of an ABA accredited
school of law at the University of California, Riverside.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 16th day of April, 1991.

certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City
Council at a regular meeting held on the 16th day of April, 1991 by
the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Beswick, Larson, Milson;
Mayor DeMirjyn
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember Cunningham. /
