A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF REDLANDS
ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 2
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
follows:
WHEREAS , a public hearing was called for February 2, 1971, at the
hour of 7: 00 P.M, in the Council Chambers in Safety Hall, Redlands,
California, to ascertain whether the public necessity, health, safety,
or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associ-
ated overhead structures and the underground installation of wires
and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or similar or
associated service on the property bounded by Marshall, Parkford,
Morrison and Tnterstate 107 and
CINEREAS , notice of such hearing has been given to all affected
property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment ,:all and
utilities concerned in the manner and for the time required by law
and
WEER _ S , such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all
persons interested have been given an opportunity to be heard-
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City council of the
City of Redlands hereby finds and determines that the public neces-
sity, health, safety and welfare require the removal of poles , over-
head wires and associated structures, and the underground installa-
tion of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication,
or similar or associated service on all that portion of Redlands
Heights Map No. 8 in the City of Redlands as per plat recorded in
Book 9 of Maps, Page 5 thereof, records of San Bernardino County,
State of California, described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of centerline of Morrison Avenue
and the southerly line of Redlands Freeway right-of-way, also known
as interstate No. 10, as said intersection is shown on Detail Map
of Relinquishment recorded in Boot 5, Page 67 of State Highway Maps,
records of said county; thence northerly along said centerline to
its intersection with the easterly prolongation of the south line
of 60-foot-wide Parkford Drive and the True Point of Beginningr
thence westerly along said south line of Parkford Drive to its
intersection with the southerly prolongation of the westerly line
of Marshall Street, thence northerly along the westerly line of
Marshall Street to its intersection with the southerly line of said
Interstate 107 thence easter1v along said southerly line and its
8asted ly prolongation to the centerline of Morrison Avenue7 thence
southerly along the centerline of Morrison Avenue to its int ersectio-ri
with the easterly prolongation of the south line of Parkford Drive
and the True Point of Beginning.
Such described area is hereby established as Underground Utility
District No. 2.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that all poles, overheat-34 wires and associated
overhead -structures shall be removed and underground installations
made in said underground utility district within the follomiing t-imes:
a. Underground installation by utility companies and
property owners and reconnections not latter than
J—anuary 1, 1972.
b. Removal of poles, overhead wires and other associated
overhead structures not later than January 1, 1972.
RESOL`.TED, FURTHER, that the City Clerk, within -Len (10) days
after the adoption of this resolution, shall mail a copy hereof and a
copy of ordinance No. 1375 to affected property owners as such are
shown on the last equalized roll and to the affected utilities.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 2nd day of February, 19711 by
the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen DeMirjyn, Knudsen, miller, Sewall, Mayor Cummings
NOES : None
