HomeMy WebLinkAbout4069_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 4069 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 6-A BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows: WHEREAS, a public hearing was called for May 21 , 1985 and con- tinued to June 4, 1985, in the Council Chambers in Safety Hall, Redlands, California, to ascertain whether the public necessity, health, safety, or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures and the underground installa- tion of wires and facilities for supplying electric communications, or similar or associated service on both sides of Center Street between Fern and Crescent Avenues; and WHEREAS, notice of such hearing has been given to all affected property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and utilities concerned in the manner and for the time required by law; and WHEREAS, such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all persons interested have been given an opportunity to be heard; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redlands hereby finds and determines that the public necessity, health, safety and welfare require the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated structures, and the underground installation of or associated service on both sides of Center Street, more particularly described as follows: A 138-foot-wide strip of land lying 69 feet on either side of Center Street, said strip of land commencing at the centerline of Cypress Avenue, thence continuing northerly and ending at the centerline of Fern Avenue, and a 138-foot-wide strip of land lying 69 feet on either side of Center Street, said strip of land commencing at the centerline of Highland Avenue, thence continuing southerly and terminating at the centerline of Crescent Avenue . Also all that part of North Place lying within 100 feet on cast side of the centerline of Center Street and all that part of Cedar Avenue lying within 100 feet on west side of the centerline of Center Street. Also all that part of Cypress Avenue lying northerly of its centerline and lying within 100 feet on either side of the centerline of Center Street. Also all that part of Highland Avenue lying southerly of its centerline and lying within 100 feet on either side of the centerline of Center Street. Also all that part of Crescent Avenye lying northerly of its centerline and lying within 100 feet on either side of the centerline of Center Street. Also all that part of Fern Avenue lying southerly of its center- line and lying within 100 feet on either side of the centerline of Center Street. Such described area is hereby established as Underground Utility District No. 6-A. RESOLVED FURTHER, that all poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures shall be removed and underground installations made in said underground utility distract within the following times: a. Underground installation by utility companies and property owners and reconnections not later than December 31 , 1986 . b. Removal of poles, overhead wires and other associated over- head structures not later than December 31, 1986 . RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City Clerk, within ten (10) days after adoption of this resolution, shall mail a copy hereof and a copy of Ordinance No. 1375 to affected property owners as such are shown on the last equalized roll and to the affected utilities.
