A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 3 .
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
follows :
WHEREAS, a public hearing was called for January 4 , 1971 , at the
hour of 7: 00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in Safety Hall, Redlands ,
California, to ascertain whether the public necessity, health,
safety, or welfare requires the removal of poles , overhead wires
and associated overhead structures and the underground installation
of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communications , or
similar or associated service on both sides of Citrus Avenue, more
particularly described as follows: Beginning at the point of
intersection of the centerline of Judson Street and the centerline
of Citrus Avenue; thence westerly along said centerline of Citrus
Avenue 275 feet to the True Point of Beginning. Thence westerly
along the centerline of Citrus Avenue, 2003 .68 feet to the terminus
of this description . Excepting therefrom the east 380 feet south
of the centerline of Citrus Avenue; and
WHEREAS, notice of such hearing has been given to all affected
property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll
and utilities concerned in the manner and for the time required
by law; and
WHEREAS, such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all
persons interested have been given an opportunity to be heard.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Redlands hereby finds and determines that the public necessity,
health, safety and welfare require the removal of poles , overhead
wires and associated structures , and the underground installation
of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communications , or
similar or associated service on both sides of the centerline of
Citrus Avenue, more particularly described as follows: Beginning
at the point of intersection of the centerline of Judson Street
and the centerline of Citrus Avenue; thence westerly along said
centerline of Citrus Avenue 275 feet to the True Point of Beginning.
Thence westerly along the centerline of Citrus Avenue, 2003 .68 feet
to the terminus of this description. Excepting therefrom the east
380 feet south of the centerline of Citrus Avenue, and such described
area is hereby established as Underground Utility District No . 3 .
RESOLVED FURTHER, that all poles , overhead wires and associated
overhead structures shall be removed and underground installations
made in said underground utility district within the following
times :
a. Underground installation by utility companies and
property owners and reconnections not later than
November 1 , 1972.
b. Removal of poles , overhead wires and other associated
overhead structures not later than November 1, 1972.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City Clerk, within ten (10) days after
the adoption of this resolution, shall mail a copy hereof and a
copy of Ordinance No . 1375 to affected property owners as such are
shoe on the last equalized roll and to the affected utilities .

The City Council has scheduled a public hearing
for January 4th to consider establishing an
Underground Utility District along Citrus Avenue
from the freeway to a point 218 feet west of
Judson Street . The meeting will be held in the
Council Chambers at Safety Hall, 212 Brookside
Avenue, at 7: 00 p.m. If the district is estab-
lished, it will result in the overhead transmission
lines along the north side of Citrus Avenue being
placed underground.
