A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ESTABLISHING A DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO DETERMINE WHETHER
THE PUBLIC NECESSITY, HEALTH, SAFETY, OR WELFARE REQUIRES THE
FORMATION OF AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT ON TERRACINA
BOULEVARD BETWEEN BROOKSIDE AVENUE AND OLIVE AVENUE
WHEREAS, Chapter 12.36 of the Redlands Municipal Code establishes a procedure
for the creation of underground utility districts and requires as the initial step in such
procedure the holding of a public hearing to ascertain whether the public necessity, health,
safety, or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead
structures and the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric,
communication, or similar or associated service in any such district; and
WHEREAS, City staff has recommended to the City Council of the City of Redlands
that such an underground utility district, hereinafter called Underground Utility District No.
12, (the "District")be formed on Terracina Boulevard between Brookside Avenue and Olive
Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Redlands as follows:
1. That a public hearing will be held by the City Council of the City of Redlands
on December 3, 2442, at the hour of 7:40 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at the Civic
Center, 35 Cajon Street, Redlands, California, to ascertain whether the public necessity,
health, safety, or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated
overhead structures and the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying
electric, communication, or similar or associated service in the District hereinabove
described.
2. At such a hearing, all persons interested in the matter shall be given an
opportunity to be heard and present verbal and written testimony. The hearing may be
continued from time to time as determined by the City Council.
3. The City Clerk shall notify all affected property owners, as shown on the last
equalized assessment roll, and utility companies of the time and place of the public hearing
by mailing a copy of this resolution to such property owners and utility companies at least
fifteen (15) days prior to the date hereof.
4. The area proposed to be included in the District is shown upon that certain map
entitled Underground Utility District No. 12, dated November 5, 2002, which is on file in
the office of the City Clerk of the City of Redlands.
