A RESOLUTION OF UiE CITY COUNCIL,, CITY OF REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA, CONCERNING
A PROPOSED STATE BUILDING, ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING CODE.
T11E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
WHEREAS. A letter has been received relative to a STATE
BUILDING, ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING CODE, together
with a letter of transmittal from the DIVISION OF
HOUSING OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, signed by
Mr. Lowel Nelson,, and
WHEREAS, Said letter stated -a hearing will be held in July,, and
WHEREAS, Saidproposed code would ellnftnate the need or
possibility for individual city or count7 amendments
or provisions,, and
WHMAS, Said code would prevent the local adoption of other
codes inclu&Lng snabsequent additions of the UNIFORM
BUILDING CODE which is revised every three years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE; IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Redlands to hereby urgently request that' all possible steps
be -taken to prevent any and all adoptions of this proposed code;
using all means at their disposal to prevent the absorption of
code writing activities 'by the DIVISION OF HOUSING of the STATE
OF CALIFORNIA.
